DESCRIPTION:  The Highway Construction Inspector program is an excellent resource to get
your career started in an exciting field with a rewarding pay.  The 30-week class schedule is filled
with topics that cover basic mathematics, topographical map reading, earthwork, aggregate
surfacing, and many others.  Students will also take field trips to PennDOT construction sites.
Students will learn everything necessary to be confident and knowledgeable as an inspector of
highway construction. A certification of training will be issued upon successful completion of the
 NICET Exam.

"NICET's mission is to be an independent, internationally recognized evaluator of knowledge
and experience; to define and support career paths; and to ensure continued professional
development of engineering technicians and technologists."

"NICET's vision is to be the leader in recognizing, through certification, engineering technicians
 and technologists."
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS: Admission is based on availability of openings in accordance
with the school's approved policy of non-discrimination and equal opportunity.  Applicants for
training must obtain a formal application and meet with a CCCTC official for a pre-admission
 interview.

Act early since enrollment is limited to a class size of 25 students.

Applicants should be motivated and self-starters since this career will require the monitoring of
contractors to ensure quality control and contract compliance for roadway and bridge construction
 projects.
CLASS SCHEDULE: The Highway Construction Inspector program will begin about the third week
of August and end the last week of March. Classes are usually held 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., three
to four days a week with instruction held on about 50% of the Saturdays.
PLACEMENT: The need is great for certified inspectors.  Once graduated, students will be able
